The purpose of this research brief is to summarize the challenges that have been raised by the proposal review process and the implementation of these studies during the first year of the project. This research brief seeks to highlight challenges to the field of afterschool research as the need for rigorous approaches to addressing questions of program impact and efficacy in applied settings increases.
